Conversion fraud
Bots completing the actions an advertiser optimises for — form fills, sign-ups, add-to-carts, or purchases.
With bots now the majority of web traffic (Imperva measured 51% in 2024), a share of completed conversions are automated rather than human. It is more damaging than click fraud because each fake conversion also trains automated bidding to buy more of the traffic that produced it.
