Google Ads fraud protection

Stop Paying for Fraudulent Google Ads Clicks

The ANA found only $439 of every $1,000 of programmatic ad spend reaches a real consumer[1]. ClickLens detects invalid clicks in real time, syncs exclusions to your Google Ads account, and grades the conversions before they train your bidding.

The click fraud problem

Google's built-in invalid click detection catches some automated fraud, but sophisticated bots, click farms, and competitor attacks slip through.

$439

of every $1,000 programmatic spend reaches a consumer (ANA, 2024)

$172B

projected annual ad-fraud loss by 2028 (Juniper Research)

37%

of internet traffic is malicious bots (Imperva, 2025)

Invalid clicks come from multiple sources: competitor click fraud designed to exhaust your daily budget, bot networks running automated click campaigns, click farms hired to inflate metrics, and scrapers that trigger ad impressions without real interest. Google refunds some of these, but the bots that behave like people survive its filter and reach your spend.

How ClickLens protects your Google Ads

Install the tag, connect the account, and the rest runs on a schedule.

1

Install the tag

Add a single JavaScript snippet to your landing pages. Works with any website, CMS, or tag manager.

2

Measure every visit

Every visit is measured on 40+ behavioural signals: how the mouse moves, whether the device fingerprint holds together, whether automation markers are present.

3

Score clicks and conversions

Each visit gets a human, suspect or bot verdict while it is still on the page, and any conversion it reports is graded on how it was produced and the journey that led to it.

4

Sync exclusions

Fraudulent IPs and placements are synced to your Google Ads exclusion lists on a recurring schedule, so they stop being served your ads on the next sync.

Protect Smart Bidding from polluted conversions

Target CPA, Target ROAS and Maximise Conversions all work the same way: they buy more of whatever converts. A fake form fill or sign-up reads as a win, so the bidder steers budget toward the source that produced it. Blocking the IP afterwards cannot undo that, because the conversion has already fired and trained the algorithm.

ClickLens grades each conversion on its provenance — the timing and structure of the submit, never the field contents — and on whether the journey to it makes sense, then resolves it to pass, downweight or retract. Google has the strongest write-back path of any platform: a live OAuth connection plus the documented click-id adjustment API, so a retracted or restated conversion is corrected in your account keyed by gclid. That write-back is in measured rollout: every gate runs in shadow mode first, where the dashboard shows the adjustment it would make, and verdicts change platform data only after the false-positive rate has been measured on live traffic against a 10% holdout.

Features for Google Ads advertisers

Automatic IP exclusion sync

Connect your Google Ads account and ClickLens pushes bot IPs to your campaign-level IP exclusion lists on a recurring schedule. Once a flagged IP is excluded, your ads stop being served to it.

Waste calculator

See how much of your Google Ads budget went to bots, in dollars, by campaign, ad group and keyword.

Real-time scoring

Sessions are scored in real time, so you don't have to wait for daily reports or retroactive analysis to see a verdict. Flagged IPs and placements then sync to your exclusion lists on a recurring schedule.

Transparent scoring

Every session shows a full scoring breakdown across automation (25%), fingerprint (20%), behaviour (25%), network (15%), and context (15%). Open any session to see which signals produced the verdict, dispute it if you disagree, or write a custom rule for a pattern only your site sees.

Traffic source analysis

See which UTM sources, campaigns, and keywords are sending the most bot traffic. Pause the placements that send bots and move the budget to the ones that send buyers.

Multi-platform protection

The same tag scores traffic from Meta, Microsoft and TikTok Ads, so one install covers your whole paid mix. Exclusion sync is live on Google Ads today, with Microsoft and Meta in rollout; TikTok is report-only.
